This is a true story about how practicing balance exercises helped an individual get back on their feet and back to their sport after sustaining a fall and an injury while bowling. Awhile back, a neighbor of mine lost her balance, slipped and fell and broke her upper arm bone in three places. She had to have surgery to place pins in her upper arm and she was in a sling for six weeks. Furthermore, several months physical therapy to get her arm moving again. Slowly, she was able to return to functional activities like getting dressed and washing her hair independently. Her greatest obstacle to overcome, however, was her fear of falling and injuring herself again. Her key to successful re-entry to her recreational activities was to rehearse balance exercises every day to improve her balance and enhance her confidence to avoid further fall injury. Please see   http://www.exerciseforbalance.com/buy-now

Balance Exercises For All Recreational Activities

Practicing balance exercises consistently will help you to develop the stability skills are needed not only for activities with home, but also for recreational activities that you enjoy outside the home. One specific equilibrium routine that can be beneficial for both activities of daily living or sports activities is to find your center balance point in the base of support at the feet and maintain your body mass at the center point while engaging in various challenges to your balance. You can practice controlling your body’s weight shifting and center balance point while challenging your balance by reaching forwards and backwards, looking side to side or bending down to an object off the floor. To make balance exercises specific towards bowling, you can practice a combination static and dynamic stability routines that include standing on one foot and swinging the other foot forwards and backwards. You can also practice dynamic lunging exercises that mimic the release movement found in bowling. Thankfully, my neighbor was able to perform beginning stability exercise to establish good standing and walking steadiness. She then advanced her balance exercise routine to develop sports specific stability, enabling her to return to her friends and sport that she loves. She was able to work on her balance skills at home with the Exercise For Balance DVD, which she used to follow along with detailed balance techniques, strength exercises and appropriate balance exercises.
