Medical researchers are looking at healthy lifestyle changes including adding a program of  daily senior balance exercises to help with aging.  Please see   http://www.exerciseforbalance.com/buy-now Healthcare professionals and medical researchers are saying more and more these days that maintaining daily physical activity, continuing with good balance to prevent falls and following a healthy diet are key components to aging well.  Dr. Dean Ornish, founder and president of the nonprofit Preventive Medicine Research Institute in Sausalito, Calif. recently published his results of a study that showed that healthy behaviors such as exercise, good diet and stress management have the potential to reverse aging on a molecular level and partly restore the vitality of a person's cells. "We may be able to reverse aging on a cellular level," said Ornish, a best-selling author who advocates a lifestyle-driven approach to improve health and combat disease. "Our bodies are much more dynamic than we had once recognized, and the more you change at any age the more you can improve."  The DNA sequences, known as telomeres, directly affect how cells age and have been associated with an increased risk of premature death and age-related diseases. As telomeres become shorter and their structural integrity weakens, cells age and die faster. Shorter telomere length has been tied to unhealthy behaviors such as cigarette smoking, chronic emotional stress and poor diet, Ornish said, as well as diseases including cancer, cardiovascular disease, dementia, obesity, stroke, osteoporosis, infectious diseases and diabetes. "They're sometimes likened to the plastic tips on the end of shoelaces that keep your laces from unraveling," Ornish said of telomeres. "In this case, they keep your chromosomes from unraveling." The good news is that healthy behaviors can increase the strength of chromosomes. One key factor to healthy living is to maintain an appropriate level of activity, which begins with having adequate balance.

Practice Senior Balance Exercises Every Day

Rehearsing senior balance exercises in a consistent manner is one of the best ways to keep up your steadiness, enabling you to remain active and able to complete general physical fitness programs. Since regular exercise is essential for cellular health, you need to establish and maintain adequate equilibrium in order to continue with other exercise programs. Good stability is an underlying component of a walking program. To enhance your steadiness for walking outdoors, you can first start by practicing static and then dynamic stability exercises to strengthen the speed and force of ankle balance reactions. Once your ankle reactions are able to handle various terrain, you can head out and enjoy a robust walk, which will boost your mood, improve cardiovascular health and overall fitness. you can begin by practicing appropriate senior balance exercises in the comfort of your own home with the exercise for balance dvd, a program developed by an experienced physical therapist.
