By Suzanne Stoke, Physical Therapist @ Exercise For Balance via www.exerciseforbalance.com
What kind of balance exercises did Cody Townsend practice for years before plummeting down a two thousand foot chute of snow and ice? Please see     http://www.exerciseforbalance.com/buy-now Most of us would hyperventilate even thinking of this undertaking, but Daredevil Cody Townsend is being heralded for his skiing prowess. Recently,   a video was newly released that shows extreme skier, Cody Townsend, plunging nearly 2,000 feet through a vertical chute. The ultimate skiing took place down a chute sandwiched between two ridges in Alaska’s Tordrillo mountain range. The height of the drop is taller than the Empire State Building, or five football fields stacked together. “It wasn’t actually until I dropped in and then started going and realizing how fast I was going, how narrow it was and how steep it was truly,” Townsend said. “It kind of all came together like, ‘Oh man, this is terrifying.’” The rock walls were only feet apart at the narrowest point. The two thousand foot descent took place in only sixteen seconds. Townsend said that he practiced for four years before attempting the feat. I can imagine that balance exercises were part of his preparation and fitness regime.

 Balance Exercises For Regular People

balance exercises are also essential to perform for athletes in various sports as well as folks in the aging generation beyond their  sixties. For people who live more normal lives, performing balance exercises is a good idea to stay safe with daily routines like walking down stairs, getting in and out of a car when your hands are full, getting up from the floor after cleaning the bath tub, or navigating on the golf course or a hiking trail. equilibrium exercises can be as basic as standing on one foot for twenty seconds at a time, three times in a row. Stability routines can be progressed to walking along a line, heel to toe down a long hallway. You can learn these steadiness routines and other step by step balance exercises by following the instructional and demonstration of a knowledgeable Physical therapist in the exercise For Balance DVD.
